Creating a community where there is love, mutual support, and connectedness in significant relationships.

Our Mission

COMMUNITY is at the heart of who we are at Light in the Valley Community Church in Leavenworth, Washington. We’re here for our community as we sacrificially serve our neighbors in the Upper Wenatchee Valley. We’re also here to create a community where there is love, mutual support, and connectedness in significant relationships. It’s all centered in, and flows from, our love for Jesus Christ and his love for us.

Together, we’re striving to become the kind of church described in the Bible-a church that celebrates God’s presence with relevant teaching and heart-felt contemporary worship; a church that builds honest friendships and strong families; a church that puts its energies into practical, compassionate care for those in greatest need. In short, we’d like to express our shared Christian faith in a way that can influence and encourage the entire community, one life at a time.

So whether you’re a spiritual seeker who’s just starting to ask questions about God, someone disillusioned with a past church experience but ready for a new beginning, or a committed Christian who wants to make continued progress in your spiritual journey, you can find a home here at Light in the Valley Community Church.

Statement of Faith

We believe in the eternal, essential truths of historic Christianity included in this document.
In God’s grace we seek to worship, grow and serve in unity with all true believers:
“In essentials, unity;
in nonessentials, liberty;
in all things, love.”

We believe the Bible to be true, fully reliable and the ultimate authority on faith and personal behavior (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21).

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2).

We worship the Creator God as our heavenly Father, infinitely perfect, and intimately acquainted with all our ways (1 Timothy 2:5; Ephesians 4:4-6).

We worship Jesus Christ as our eternal Lord, born through a miracle of the Holy Spirit, fully divine and fully human (Matthew 1:18; John 1:1, 14).

We worship the Holy Spirit, also fully divine, and actively at work within us convicting, convincing and comforting (John 14:16-17, 26; 16:7-15; Romans 8:9-27; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11).

We believe that God created humans to have fellowship with him, but they defied God by sinfully going their own way. As a result, we need God’s saving grace to restore our relationship with him (Romans 2:6-8, 3:23, 5:12).

We believe that Christ died for our sins, that he was physically raised from death and ascended to heaven (1 Corinthians 15:3-21), from where he will return to establish his promised global rule (Zechariah 14:4-9; Acts 1:10-11; Revelation 5:9-10, 19:11-16, 20:4-6).

We believe God’s free gift of salvation is for all who accept it through faith, apart from any human effort (Romans 3:24-28, 5:1-9; Ephesians 2:8-9).

We believe that we have an adversary and accuser in Satan, whose deceptive and destructive work Jesus came to destroy (1 John 3:8; Hebrews 2:14; John 8:44).

We celebrate baptism (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3-4) and the Lord’s Supper (Matthew 26:26-29; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26) as a visible expression of God’s great work for us.

We believe those who follow Jesus are called to enter a process of spiritual transformation, through which our lives progressively take on the character and priorities of Jesus as the Holy Spirit works within us (Romans 12:2; Ephesians 4:22-24; 1 Peter 2:2).

We believe God calls us to bring the good news of His grace to our community and our world (Matthew 28:18-20; 2 Corinthians 5:14-21).
